Our mission is to enrich lives with art, exercise and sensory experiences incorporating unique livestock. We serve children and adults with a unique approach to Educational & Therapeutic Programs.
The Blissful Barn, Inc.
The Blissful Barn, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization developed to promote better communication and trust, aide in social-emotional skills, exercise gross motor and coordination, extend sensory experiences and explore therapeutic art processes and educate individuals utilizing unique farm animals.
Our goal is to create a safe environment that welcomes parents, counselors, therapists and educators to partner with us and discover the emotional, social, psychological and physical benefits of working with these animals and their fiber through art and hands-on interactions.
While we promote our programs to children with disabilities, At-Risk Youth, and children with chronic illness, anyone can benefit from Animal Assisted Activities. Our primary measure is making a positive difference in the lives of others by sharing our animals.
Alpacas & Llamas
The unique disposition of alpacas and llamas make them prospective options in animal-assisted therapy. Promising results have been documented for children suffering with autism, attention deficit disorders and anxiety disorders. Their ability to communicate non-verbally encourages the exploration of unique ways to express one’s self and develop new ways of social interaction. Their quiet nature makes them a wonderful match with children suffering from autism spectrum disorders and sensory oversensitivity. They are naturally hypoallergenic and their fibers contain fire retardant properties.
